I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis August 2014. I was sporadically following a paleo lifestyle since 11/2012. Meaning that the 80/20 rule became an obsession with adding gluten treats that I missed, which led to a large increase in carbs and gluten treats. I have figured out that the 80/20 rule does not work with me. When I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis I immediately purchased Sarah Ballantyne’s book The Paleo Approach. I read it over a weeks period of time and immediately started the AIP protocol. Within a week of starting the protocol my liver enzymes started dropping. My IBS-C, that I was diagnosed with when I was 18, symptoms disappeared. I did not realize that I was experiencing symptoms all of the time with periodic flares. In November 2014, 3 months later, I started my food reintroduction’s. The primary foods I reacted to were eggs that caused severe and prolonged stomachache, nightshades that caused IBS symptoms and dairy causing tiredness and nasal issues. I own and operate my own medical massage business, since 2011. Adding a whole body approach has made a difference in my clients lives. May 2017 I earned my Primal Health Coach certification. Since January 2015 I have been learning and working on becoming a Restorative Exercise Specialist through Katy Bowman. Very shortly I will be adding AIP Health Coaching locally here in Boise, Idaho where I live.

Hi! I’m Elsa, a Registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in autoimmune disease. I help people understand the triggers & root cause of their condition, so they can regain control of their health and feel great again.

Having been diagnosed with autoimmune disease myself, 11 years ago, I discovered the power of nutrition and the close link between gut health and autoimmunity. I set out on a major reinvention of my diet and lifestyle and my passion for the subject grew.

I’m now the founder of Gut Culture, where I use a Functional Medicine approach, often including diagnostic testing and a personalised Autoimmune Protocol, to support my clients in their own unique health journey. I’m based in Berlin but also work virtually with people from all all over the world.

Hello! My name is Teesa and I am a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, and AIP Certified Coach.

Autoimmune disease is something I have been familiar with most of my life, as many members of my family live with various forms. When I too was diagnosed, with Hashimoto’s, unable to find relief elsewhere I turned to Functional Medicine. After changing aspects of my diet and lifestyle, using a similar program to AIP, I was able to relieve or eliminate most of my symptoms.

My passion for helping others with autoimmune disease started when my own children were diagnosed as well. I realized there was very little support for individuals or families managing AI disease, and navigating these diet and lifestyle changes. Oftentimes doctors don’t have time to explain why, how, or what we can do to improve our health. It is my hope to fill the ‘gap’ between doctor and patient.

Through my own personal experiences, and extensive training, I feel honored to guide and counsel others living with autoimmune disease and help them to live their best lives. At NW Nourishment, I believe each person is unique, and deserves an individualized approach to wellness.

I have been in the realm of counseling since 14 years of age, working as a peer-counselor in a local community-based program in Forest Hills, NY. It is where I found my passion working with individuals and communities in teaching health and lifestyle with the goal of outreach and making the world a better place one person at a time. I have been practicing as a Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist for over ten years, during my foundational education in the nutrition field I worked as a Personal Trainer for seven years where I saw firsthand just how much personal transformation I can inspire in people and that further fueled my love for the field of life-style medicine. Although my basic training had a lot to offer, I always felt that there was more information that existed which I can use to empower individuals to create sustainable change, and so I found Functional Medicine several years ago and since then never looked back to just the standard care models. My own-personal transition, transformation and health challenges has empowered my ability to help heal those under-my care. I am a firm believer of practicing what I preach! I incorporate science and history to create open-minded practice frameworks and believe in the process of continued lifelong learning to the universal betterment.

Like many practitioners of alternative medicine, I began by trying to heal myself. I’ve had multiple chronic illnesses since birth and early childhood and when modern medicine couldn’t help me, I decided to find my own answers. I studied a variety of healing modalities until I had created a toolkit that I could use for most things life threw at me.

Fortunately, my previous career as a writer and artist enabled me to work with the celebrated doctor of both Western and Chinese medicine, Leon Hammer, M.D. Through his kindness and great wisdom, I learned even more about health and disease and the role that Lifestyle plays in both.

A lifetime of doctors and hospitals left me with a long list of diagnoses, but no tools to overcome them. It becomes so terribly easy to lose hope. But I’ve worked for many years to improve my health dramatically, and I’d be so grateful to use the knowledge I’ve gained along the way to help you do the same.

My practice is about helping people to find their true paths to health and wellness: what really works for each of you as unique individuals. I’m passionate about the benefits of nature and natural lifestyles, and I hope to help all of my clients rediscover and reconnect with their true essence: what it really is that makes you the beautiful person that you are.

In my own healing time, I love to be in nature. I surf, I walk in the beautiful landscape of southern Spain: in the orange groves, over the mountains, or along the Mediterranean coastline. I garden, read, write poetry, paint, work with clay, and drink cups of tea out of heavy ceramic mugs. I’m married, I have one son and a perfect, naughty, small white cat.

In January of 2012, I was told I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I didn’t really believe it was all that important to do something about it because I didn’t feel sick. Once I finally admitted to myself that it was something I needed to address (it took longer than I’d like to admit), I started taking medication and discovered that it made me feel SO much better. I realized that I had indeed had symptoms for years, they just developed so gradually that my “normal” was constantly adjusting without me realizing.

I knew I could feel even better and was determined to find a way to make it happen. I’m a Librarian at heart with a love of research, and after doing a lot of searching I found the Autoimmune Paleo diet and started there. I saw a noticeable improvement in energy and mood, similar to how I felt when I first started thyroid meds, so I knew I was onto something big.

Was I perfect? Absolutely not. I’m human and changing your diet and lifestyle isn’t easy to do on your own, and I had to find my Why. That why turned out to be an adverse reaction to my medication that sent me to the ER. Thankfully, everything turned out okay, but I was determined to give my body the support it needed to minimize potential hospital visits in the future.

The heart of change is finding your Why, the real reason you want to make those changes. Whether you are struggling with an autoimmune disease or simply want to be healthier and lose weight, I want to help you find your Why and support you on your path to Wellness. It’s a constant work-in-progress, especially for those dealing with autoimmune diseases. Having a coach in your corner helping you navigate the twists and turns of the wellness path can make all the difference, especially when your coach has been there and intimately knows what you’re experiencing.

I am a Naturopathic Doctor turned Emotional Transformation Facilitator and founder of the The Remedy Within: an exclusive and powerful healing approach for women with chronic illness to release what’s holding you back and awaken your inner healer within so you can soar.

I work with women who have chronic illness like autoimmunity and endometriosis who’ve tried AIP and even stricter diets, all the supplements, and even therapy, and know that they’re not getting the full results they’d expected.

While diet and lifestyle are paramount, underlying unhealed emotional roots can keep us from achieving all the results we desire.

Through nervous system regulation, Social Unconditioning, inner narrative healing, and compassionate self-love, women who’ve tried the strictest of protocols to no avail have been able to break through and achieve not just improved physical symptoms, but healthier relationships, and a sense of joy and purpose like never before.

This revolutionary work to awaken your healer within helps you achieve next-level results from AIP, and allows for more successful food reintroductions. These results are not temporary. When you make the inner emotional shifts and achieve inner emotional healing, these benefits last a lifetime.
