I spent 6 years going from Dr. to Dr. trying to get answers for my exhaustion & random symptoms only to be told by them all that I was healthy or it was all in my head. It wasn’t until my leaky gut entered the picture & started causing undeniable problems that they paid attention. This is despite 2 miscarriages & a stillborn son & testing ANA positive during that time (although showing no symptoms). I was told I had Microscopic Colitis, but I knew there was more, & continued to push for more testing. My ANA came back positive again, 19 years later. A visit to the Rheumatologist showed I had SIX autoimmune diseases, Fibromyalgia, POTS, Auto dystonia, Neuropathies & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I felt it was a death sentence! I was given meds & told these are chronic illnesses, so expect them to get worse. I was devastated, my Dr’s had let me down, how had things gotten SO out of control?
I came home & started researching, Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP) came up & it is not an exaggeration to say it has given me my life back. I went from barely being able to get out of bed after sleeping all night to working all day & then hiking & climbing mountains. As a licensed therapist of 25 years, I can help you nail down the stress, sleep & lifestyle piece, which is just as important as our diet. We will discuss baby steps to AIP & working smarter, not harder, to get you in a healthy life style where you are FULLY living life again. We will learn to have balance & feel at peace. I help you learn how to plan meals & batch cook, how to make AIP easy & how to set healthy boundaries to bring joy back into your life. My journey has taught me so much, & now I want to teach others how to reclaim their life & power. You can reach me at the email or phone number above, I look forward to hearing from you.

Everything is connected. When we cannot find answers to issues to improve our health in tradition ways its is important to look at the whole picture and embrace the whole body, not just the tissues involved.
So many times I’ve been told in my journy to feeling better by countless medical practitioners that “food does not matter”. Yet when I finally took matters into my own hands and addressed that area of my life all of the pieces of the puzzle fell into place in my life and I started healing by leaps and bounds.
I decided I needed to start sharing this with every chronic illness/chronic pain patient I see.
Food is medicine!

Greetings! I am Margarita, a health sciences specialist and a functional nutritionist.
Nutrition and lifestyle are similar to programming. They can “program” your body, this amazing biosystem, for health and longevity or for disease and death. I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside people who want to discover how they can take control of their health and quality of life through the modifiable factors: rest and relaxation, sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and social connections.
My approach is based on 3 Ps:
*personalization – we all are different and we need different approaches
*primary cause – working with the root / primary cause, not the symptoms
*partnership – we work together with shared responsibility
My particular areas of interest are digestive health, autoimmune thyroiditis, and chronic inflammation.
I am fluent in Russian, Lithuanian, and English

Amelia Brown Occupational Therapist, OTD, OTR/L, Certified Functional Nutrition Coach
Nashville, Tennessee

*Also Practices Virtually Worldwide
Hi, I’m Amelia, a full-time Occupational Therapist in Nashville, TN. With four years of clinical practice in acute care , I’ve treated patients with all kinds of conditions—heart disease, strokes, autoimmune disease, neurological disorders—you name it. Everyday, I see the suffering that comes with these conditions, and with one in two Americans having a chronic disease (and one in four having several), I continue to ask why. Yes, genetics and other non-modifiable factors play a significant part, but there’s also incontrovertible evidence pointing directly to modern lifestyle and diet. This realization, as well as my own experience navigating Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, has inspired me to complete additional training in order to become a health coach myself.
My mission is to empower others to make informed, thoughtful choices when it comes to their health in order to improve quality of life. I help clients with autoimmune disease address the necessary lifestyle changes to decrease internal inflammation. I provide education on meal planning, resources and recipes that aid in restoring gut health. I work with clients to identify food sensitivities and triggers while simultaneously incorporating nutrient-dense, healing foods. I also focus on strategies to:
-Manage stress and mindset
-Improve sleep quality and hygiene
-Promote regular and intentional exercise
-Reduce environmental toxin exposure
-Effectively communicate with medical practitioners
Whether you are impacted by chronic autoimmune disease or just want to live well, I would love to connect. Find me at ameliabrownwellness.com
